Inspired by David Hockney. My son's family bought a home with a kidney shape pool and of course I immediately thought of David Hockney's Los Angeles pool paintings.

Inspired by Gustav Klimt. A few years ago we visited the Legion of Honor in San Francisco to see a special show of paintings by Gustav Klimt. His garden paintings were wonderful. When painting at Blake Gardens in Kensington, I took advantage of the chance to paint a similar garden scene.
